Zola

The Knot
A wedding website, registry and vendor marketplace with per-event invitations, so guests only RSVP to the events they're added to.

If you're planning an Indian or South Asian wedding, you've probably looked at Zola and The Knot. All three tools can handle a wedding with several events. The real differences are in how you reach guests: texting, WhatsApp for family abroad, and whether messages follow each event's guest list.
We make Cordially Wed, so read this as a comparison from one of the three. Zola and The Knot details come from their help centers, checked October 14 and October 26, 2026.
Quick verdict
Zola and The Knot are full wedding websites with registries, and both support per-event invitations. Cordially Wed covers the guest side: per-event RSVPs, SMS and WhatsApp in one inbox, and Wallet passes, plus a free website. For a multi-day wedding with family abroad, many couples keep their Zola or Knot website and add Cordially Wed for guest messaging.

Multiple events and per-event RSVPs
All three let you invite guests to separate events and ask them only about those events. Zola does it from the "Events Invited To" section of each guest, and The Knot lets you add guests to each event. Cordially Wed does the same with guest lists and tags, and each guest gets a personal RSVP link that shows only their events. Multi-event support isn't a reason to pick one over the others.
Guest messaging and WhatsApp
This is where they differ. Zola's Premium Guest Messaging sends texts from its app or desktop site to custom groups, with scheduling. Each text is capped at 320 characters, and messaging your whole list needs a paid plan. The Knot's help center covers messaging guests, including RSVP reminders. We did not find WhatsApp on either.
Cordially Wed sends SMS to US, Canadian and UK numbers and WhatsApp to everyone else, with replies in one inbox. Texts use the same lists and tags that decide each event's guests, so a Mehndi update reaches only Mehndi guests and reminders skip people who already replied.
Dietary needs and day-of details
Whichever tool you use, ask about dietary needs on the RSVP and keep the answers attached to each guest. In Cordially Wed every guest and household member has a dietary field, and the seating chart colour-codes guests by diet, including Jain, Halal and Kosher. Guests also get an Apple or Google Wallet pass with their events, and it updates when plans change. We did not find Wallet passes on Zola or The Knot.
